Hospital project is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of family-centred healthcare in Cornwall.
Gleeds has been appointed to deliver external project management expertise for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust’s (RCHT) new Women and Children’s Hospital in Truro, one of the south west’s most significant health infrastructure projects and part of the government’s New Hospital Programme.
The landmark scheme represents the largest single investment in healthcare in Cornwall. It will create state-of-the-art facilities to support maternity, neonatal and paediatric care, alongside obstetrics and gynaecology services, transforming care for women, children and babies across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Gleeds will work with the RCHT programme team, providing external project management expertise, coordinating design and delivery partners, supporting business case development and ensuring the programme remains on track for time, cost and quality. Coreus will work alongside Gleeds as sub-consultant, adding capability and capacity as part of one integrated team for RCHT.
Gleeds’ UK head of healthcare Andrew McNulty said: “This project is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of family-centred healthcare in Cornwall. We are excited to be part of the team that will deliver it. Gleeds has a strong track record in the sector, with experience on complex schemes such as the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, Airedale and Leighton Hospitals.
“Our success in this highly competitive process reflects the strength, expertise and collaborative approach of our healthcare team. We look forward to helping deliver a hospital programme that will make a lasting difference to patients and families across Cornwall.”
