Infrastructure consultancy on the up as demand for planning and consenting expertise increases.
Dalcour Maclaren, a leading specialist in land planning and consenting for utilities and infrastructure projects, has achieved 40% growth over the past year, driven by rising demand for infrastructure delivery expertise across the UK.
The company, which supports clients through all stages of complex infrastructure and utilities projects, now employs 650 people across 19 offices. Its recent expansion into a larger office in Leeds city centre reflects growing activity in the north of England, where Dalcour Maclaren works with clients including Yorkshire Water, SSE, Equinor and BP H₂ Teesside.
Andrew Barker, managing director at Dalcour Maclaren, said: “The surge in UK infrastructure projects is fuelling strong demand for planning and consenting expertise. Our continued expansion allows us to provide even greater support to clients delivering major energy, water, transport and digital infrastructure projects nationwide. It also gives our people the space and resources to grow while maintaining the high-performing, client-focused culture that sets Dalcour Maclaren apart.”
Simon Hinchliffe, director for the North region, added: “The growth we’re seeing across the north reflects our commitment to being close to clients and helping deliver the infrastructure that underpins regional and national growth. From water resilience and hydrogen to rail and renewables, we’re proud to be part of the projects transforming the UK’s infrastructure landscape.”
The firm provides a full range of services to help clients secure consents and deliver projects efficiently, including land and property, environment and planning, geomatics, surveying and its newest service, stakeholder engagement.
Dalcour Maclaren has major roles on some of the largest utilities and infrastructure projects in the UK, including Gatwick Northern Runway, HS2, Dogger Bank and Hornsea 1.
