Make Architects celebrates two decades of community building with new exhibition

The Building Centre in London to host Make’s celebration of collaborative design.

Make Architects is marking two decades of collaborative design and community-building with an exhibition at the Building Centre in London from 17 November to 8 December 2025.

Occupying the Main Gallery space, CO-CREATE: Two decades of collaborative community-building offers a rare glimpse into the studio’s creative process and will feature a diverse body of work illustrated through sketches, models, materials and film.

Make brands itself as a different kind of architecture practice. Motivated by imaginative design, they deliver spaces that inspire people and transform lives. Founded in 2004 by Ken Shuttleworth, Make has teams in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai providing architecture, interior and urban design services from concept to completion. They are committed to resilient placemaking that creates social value for all.

When setting up Make as the UK’s first employee-owned architecture practice, founder Dr Ken Shuttleworth imagined a workplace where everyone had a say and solutions were found together. That founding principle shaped by dialogue, exchange and shared ambition continues to guide how the practice works today.

Great architecture requires a diversity of voices and CO-CREATE reflects the conversations that shape the practice’s designs, with clients, building users, local communities, researchers, the next generation and each other.

CO-CREATE: Two decades of collaborative community-building at the Building Centre, 17 November to 8 December 2025 at The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT.
